Fear and Possibility

What keeps me from wanting another child?  Fear.  A million "what ifs."  Make it 10 million.
What's kept me from jumping into home education earlier on?  Fear.  A billion "what ifs."

But I'm not doing anything new here.  Other moms have passed the 3 child mark without batting an eye.  Other moms have been teaching their own for centuries.

Each new phase of life seems impossible until you're in the thick of it.  What is it like to stay up all night with a newborn?  Impossible - until it's your own.  What's it like to eliminate every favorite food from your 5 year old's diet?  Impossible - until you do it.  What's it like to participate in your first homebirth?  Impossible - until the baby comes out on her own.

What's it like to have a 4th child?  Impossible for a few more years.  What's it like to educate at home?  Impossible - for a few more weeks.  So here's to acknowledging the fear and yielding to the thought that all things are possible with God.

Abby and Rain, who were once impossible.

If you had told me when I was 25, that I would have 6 children, homeschool all of them, run several home businesses, teach and have a full studio, know how to make bread, build a house and a million other things, I would have said you were nuts. The thing is, you do things one at a time, as they present themselves. And you just do it. You just do the next right thing, and you only have to anything for the next 5 minutes. That makes all things possible.
